Beginning at 4 pm on Friday\, February 20/26 and concluding on Sunday\, February 22/26 at noon at Rivendell Retreat Centre\, Bowen Island\, BC\, you will be invited to deepen your connections as spiritual directors\, your learning and your listening through meals\, discussions and practice. \n\n\n\n\nExperience going deeper with and in Love as you further explore what it means to stay with your own feelings and sensations.\n\n\n\nExperience going deeper with each other in relationships.\n\n\n\nExperience going deeper with a directee in the practice and skills of spiritual direction.\n\n\n\n\nYou are encouraged to register as soon as you are able as space is limited at Rivendell. (Registration will be accepted until November 14\, 2025.) Please consider attending with a friend and sharing a room! Used with permission.\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAt the center of every crisisis an inner spaceso deep\, so beckoning\,so suddenly and daringly vast\,that it feels like a universe\,feels like God. \nBarbara Holmes\n\n\n\nJoin spiritual directors Jan Evans and Esther Hizsa for a silent\, guided prayer retreat opening to the desire to encounter God personally in the chaos and peace of life using Ignatian prayer practices. \n\n\n\nDATE & TIME\n\n\n\nFriday\, March 28\, 2025 at 4:30 pm PT (7:30 pm ET) to Sunday\, March 30\, 2025 at noon PT (3 pm ET) \n\n\n\nLocation:\n\n\n\nOnline (Zoom link will be sent to you). \n\n\n\nCOST\n\n\n\n$100. Register early. Spaces are limited. Registration closes Friday\, March 21\, 2025. \n\n\n\nFORMAT\n\n\n\n\nSilence is observed after the first session Friday until the closing sharing on Sunday.\n\n\n\nFour group input sessions will exploring various dimensions of this theme.\n\n\n\nFour or five 45-60 minute periods for assigned personal prayer spaced throughout the retreat\n\n\n\nThree 15 minute one-to-one spiritual direction sessions with Jan\, Esther or another spiritual director.\n\n\n\n\nParticipants are encouraged to retreat in a physical space conducive to maintaining silence while they vacation with the Lord. More details will be sent following registration. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWhat participants have said:\n\n\n\n“During the Ignatian retreat\, I processed a deep hurt and became more settled in the strange place I’m at emotionally. My soul search did not end there but continues.” \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nFACILITATORS\n\n\n\n\n\nJan Evans* Jan has accompanied many persons through the Ignatian Spiritual Exercises in Daily Life (Annotation 19) over the past 12 years. She received her Ignatian training through workshops offered by Loyola House Ignatian Spirituality Centre in Guelph and a supervised practicum with a Loyola House spiritual director. She currently offers spiritual direction from her home in Collingwood\, Ontario and facilitates contemplative retreats. \n\n\n\n\n\nEsther Hizsa* Esther has also accompanied many people praying the Ignatian Spiritual Exercises and was trained by JSAV (Jesuit Apostolate Spirituality of Vancouver). She has an M Div from Regent College\, co-facilitates Living from the Heart and is on the Leadership Team of SoulStream. She posts weekly on her blog An Everyday Pilgrim and is the author of Stories of an Everyday Pilgrim\, Seed Cracked Open\, and In the Heart of the Beloved. Email soulstream1@gmail.com to be added to the wait list. \n\n\n\nSoulStream Presents: \n\n\n\nContemplative Facilitation WorkshopNurturing Contemplative Experiences\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe mission of SoulStream centers on nurturing contemplative experience with Christ leading to inner freedom and loving service. \n\n\n\nMany Partners and friends have felt the invitation to offer contemplative experiences to others as a way to live out this mission in their own circle of relationships. As a result\, SoulStream desires to explore with others some of the themes of facilitation that have made our courses so life-giving. \n\n\n\nThis workshop is for those who:  \n\n\n\n\nhave a growing experience of contemplative life\n\n\n\nand are interested in facilitating contemplative experiences with a range of focus\, such as an introduction to contemplative living\, a one-day prayer retreat\, or a weekend intro to various forms of contemplative prayer\n\n\n\n\nThe intent will be to explore three core values vital to SoulStream facilitation: \n\n\n\n\nfacilitating out of our own current lived experience\n\n\n\nfacilitating with personal honesty and vulnerability\n\n\n\nfacilitating in community\n\n\n\n\nWithin the framework of these values\, the workshop will offer opportunity to explore specific aspects of planning for such an experience: \n\n\n\n\ndeveloping desired outcomes\n\n\n\nfinding an appropriate rhythm and structure \n\n\n\nasking questions that help to go deeper\n\n\n\naddressing potential issues that might be encountered\n\n\n\nconsidering the value of humour\n\n\n\n\nThe workshop will also involve a panel of experienced SoulStream facilitators.Participants will be expected to engage with some material prior to the workshop. \n\n\n\nWe invite you to join us!\n\n\n\nDate/Time\n\n\n\n\n\nLocation\n\n\n\nTo be offered online via Zoom.
